Tips & Reminders for Expat Runners

To start off, whether you're new to running or very experienced, call Wuxi your home or have travelled into the city, welcome! We've put together this handy guide to answer some questions expat runners may have before the day of the big race.

First of all, let's go over gear pick-up! Remember that your gear cannot be picked up on the day of the race (March 19th), so you will need to do so beforehand. A passport is required to pick up your gear and it is not allowed to pick up gear for anyone but yourself.

Gear pick-up will be at the New Sports Centre (新体育中心) located on 1500 Taihu Avenue (滨湖区太湖大道1500号). Here are the available dates and times for pick-up:

• Thursday, March 16th - 2pm until 8pm.

• Friday, March 17th - 9am until 8pm.

• Saturday, March 18th - 9am until 10pm.

Next, don't miss out on the welcome dinner on March 18th from 6pm until 9pm - runners, their friends and family are all welcome to join in on the fun. With a great pasta & pizza menu planned, as well as free-flow beer, Mammamia Pizzeria's (妈妈咪呀意大利餐厅) dinner event is sure to be a great night! 

Mammamia Pizzeria is located at #9 Yong Le Road, #34 Yang Chun Alley, behind the Nikko Hotel (永乐东路9号，阳春巷34号，日航饭店后面).

On race day, all runners will start from the New Sports Centre (新体育中心) located on 1500 Taihu Avenue (滨湖区太湖大道1500号). The official race start time is 7:30am sharp. Be sure to arrive in a timely manner, to avoid rushing and confusion. As well, be advised that runners need to start from the corral that correlates with their bib numbers. Your bib chip will NOT record your race time if you start from the wrong corral. For those participating in the full marathon, the race will end at the New Sports Centre as well. For those participating in the half marathon, the race will end at Jiangnan University (江南大学).

Last but not least, be sure to remember to fuel up after all that hard work at our post-race brunch at Goldener Stern Biergarten. Share race stories with other runners and celebrate a great finish with your family and friends over a fantastic buffet brunch.

Goldener Stern Biergarten (弗兰肯) is next to the Wuxi People's Theatre on Yong He Road (无锡人民大会堂旁，永和路).
